Japanese Onion Salad with Bonito Flakes
Katsuobushi (Bonito Flakes) is usually used for Dashi stocks. It will simply add the Umami taste onto dishes like this salad!
2 onions 2 sachets (10g) of Katsuobushi (Bonito Flakes)
(Dressing) 2 tsp mentsuyu (a pre-seasoned dash stock) 1 tbsp vineger 1 tsp mirin
1. Slice the onions and put them in water.
2. Mix well the mentsuyu, vinegar and mirin to make the dressing.
3. Drain water from onions and put the Katsuobushi.
4. Pour the dressing and serve!
